Broad Community Connections
Broad Community Connections is a Main Street organization devoted to revitalizing the Broad Street corridor by promoting the economic, residential and cultural development of its diverse surrounding neighborhoods. Our ReFresh Project, a fresh food hub to be located at the corner of Broad and Bienville, will provide residents with a one-stop location to access fresh groceries, nutrition and health information, cooking skills and more. BCC also partnered with the Arts Council of New Orleans to create the Iconic Signage Project, bringing economic development and some extra flair to Broad Street businesses through vintage signs. Other neighborhood events include the NOLA Drive-In and the Brewhaha on Bayou Road.
Broad Community Connections has been an accredited Main Street organization since 2009. Main Street is a program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation and focuses on transforming the way communities think about the revitalization and management of their downtowns and neighborhood commercial districts through neighborhood organization and partnerships; promoting community pride and the uniqueness of the neighborhood; urban design for a safe, inviting environment; and strengthening and diversifying economic assets.
